What happens before any work starts?

Everything begins with information you send: photos, rough measurements and what you want to achieve. From that we can tell whether the job is new paving, a replacement or something better handled by one of our sister sites, and give a first estimate.

  1. First contact: photos and approximate m² by WhatsApp, email or the form.
  2. Questions from us about access, current surface, drainage and services under the ground.
  3. Site visit in Coín with you or a trusted person to measure and check levels.
  4. Written quote, itemised by stage, in English or Spanish.
  5. Agreement on dates, material choice and where materials and waste will be placed.

Nothing is ordered until you have accepted the quote. If you want to compare it with other offers, our checklist for choosing a paving contractor shows what to look for line by line.

What happens on site, in order?

The work follows a fixed order, because each layer depends on the one below it. If you replace an old surface, it starts with lifting; on bare ground, with excavation.

  • Lifting the existing surface and loading the rubble for removal.
  • Excavating to the required depth and compacting the natural ground.
  • Building and compacting the sub-base, and a concrete base where needed.
  • Setting kerbs and edge restraint to line and level.
  • Spreading and screeding the bedding layer.
  • Laying the pavers, cutting at edges, jointing and final compaction.

We do not give a fixed duration here because it depends entirely on area, access, weather and what we find beneath the old surface. The quote gives a realistic window for your job.

After the final compaction, the joints need a little time to settle and may take a second top-up of sand. We explain what to watch for and when the area can take a car again, and how to top up the joints yourself if the first rains wash some sand out.

What happens with the waste?

Old paving, concrete and excavated soil are construction and demolition waste, regulated by Royal Decree 105/2008 and Law 7/2022. Typical European List of Waste codes when lifting paving are 17 01 01 for concrete, 17 01 07 for mixtures of concrete, bricks, tiles and ceramics without hazardous substances, and 17 05 04 for soil and stones. We separate what we can and take it to an authorised facility; removal is a visible line in the quote.

Which services and areas are covered in Coín?

If your home is in town, the job tends to be a patio, entrance or courtyard; if it is on land outside Coín, it may include a drive and turning space. Either way, the sequence above is the same, and only the scale and logistics change.

We work in Las Delicias, Miravalle-Los Montecillos, El Rodeo and the rest of Coín. For new surfaces, see concrete block paving and natural stone setts; for replacing what is there, paving replacement. Sister sites by the same contractor cover sunken paver repair in Coín, driveways in Coín and surface renovation in Coín. What goes into a quote is explained on what a paving quote includes, and the comarca is on the Valle del Guadalhorce page. Frequently asked questions

Do you work in Las Delicias and El Rodeo?

Yes. Las Delicias, Miravalle-Los Montecillos and El Rodeo are part of Coín and within our working area, along with the town and the rest of the municipality.

How long will my paving job in Coín take?

It depends on the area, access, the old surface and the weather, so we do not quote a standard duration. After the site visit, the written quote includes a realistic time window for your specific job.

Do I need to be at home while you work?

Not necessarily. We need access to the area, water if possible, and someone reachable by phone for decisions. Many owners give a key to a neighbour and follow the work through our photo updates.

Is anything ordered before I accept the quote?

No. Materials are only ordered after you accept the written quote and confirm your choice of paver, colour and pattern. Until then you are under no obligation.

What do the waste codes on my quote mean?

They are European List of Waste codes. For paving jobs the usual ones are 17 01 01 for concrete, 17 01 07 for mixed concrete, brick, tile and ceramics, and 17 05 04 for soil and stones.

Can you keep part of the garden open during the work?

Yes. We fence the working area and agree which paths and doors stay usable. Materials are stored where they do not block your daily routes.

What if you find something unexpected under the old paving?

We stop and tell you, with photos, before deciding what to do. Typical surprises are old pipes, buried rubble or soft ground. Any change to the quote is agreed with you first.

Do you clean up at the end?

Yes. Surplus jointing sand is swept off, rubble removed and the area left clean. We then send you a set of photos of the finished paving and a few simple care tips.

Is a permit needed for paving in Coín?

The current municipal ordinance in Coín decides which procedure applies, and the town hall can confirm it for your job. Under Andalusia's LISTA law many minor private works are handled by a responsible declaration.

Can I see the materials before they are laid?

Yes. When the pallets arrive you can check that the paver, colour and format match what you approved. If you are away, we send photos of the delivery before laying begins.
