Who asks for paving work in Benalmádena?
Two kinds of client, mainly: owners of a house or townhouse who want a new driveway, path or patio, and communities of owners who need shared surfaces renewed. The municipality is split into distinct areas – Benalmádena Pueblo, Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmádena Costa among them – so the jobs vary from one street to the next.
Further along, areas such as Torrequebrada, La Capellanía and Torremuelle are made up largely of residential developments. Where a property shares a gate, a garage ramp or garden paths with neighbours, the paving is usually a common element and the process starts with the community rather than with one owner.
How do we handle a community of owners?
The short answer: we give the administrator a quote the meeting can vote on, then work around residents. Under the Horizontal Property Law (Ley 49/1960), work on common elements needs a resolution of the owners' meeting under the majority rules of article 17; your administrator can confirm the exact majority for a given job.
- A written quote split into stages, so the meeting can compare it line by line with other offers.
- Photos of the current state, useful for the minutes and for owners who live abroad.
- A phased plan when an entrance or ramp cannot close completely, keeping a route open for residents.
- Updates in English or Spanish to the administrator and, if wanted, to the president.
We are a paving contractor. We execute the work; we do not draft building projects or technical reports, so if the community needs one, its architect or engineer prepares it and we follow it.
Which services fit the typical jobs here?
If your old surface is cracked concrete or broken tiles, replacing old paving covers lifting, waste removal and a new base. For new areas, concrete block paving is the most flexible option for cars and people. Where a strip of garden is used for parking, permeable paving and grass grids let rain soak in rather than run off.
Edges matter on sloping plots: without a firm restraint, blocks slowly migrate downhill. Our page on kerbs and edge restraint explains the options, and the guide to compaction and falls shows why gradients are set before a single paver is laid.
Where do the other specialist services come in?
Benalmádena is covered by every site in our network, all run by the same self-employed contractor from Marbella. If only part of the paving has dropped, see sunken paver repair in Benalmádena. A community garage entrance or a shared car park is the speciality of driveways and parking in Benalmádena. Pool surrounds go to terraces and pools in Benalmádena, and faded stamped concrete to surface renovation in Benalmádena.

Frequently asked questions
Do you pave in Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmádena Pueblo as well as on the coast?
Yes. We work throughout the municipality, including Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmádena Pueblo, Benalmádena Costa, Torrequebrada, La Capellanía and Torremuelle. Narrow or steep streets are taken into account when we plan deliveries and the size of machinery.
Our community wants to replace the paving at the entrance. Where do we start?
Usually with the administrator. We visit, measure and send a written quote in stages that can be presented to the owners' meeting. Once the meeting has approved the work under the Horizontal Property Law, we agree dates and how residents will get in and out.
Can one owner change the paving outside their own flat?
If the area is a common element of the development, even when only one owner uses it, a decision of the community is normally required. Check your title deeds and statutes with the administrator before commissioning any work on it.
Can the job be split into phases so the garage stays usable?
In many cases, yes. We can pave one half of a ramp or entrance first, let it settle under compaction and then do the other half, so vehicles keep a route. Whether this is possible depends on the width and layout we see on site.
What paving do you suggest for a sloping path in Torrequebrada or Torremuelle?
On a slope, the base and edge restraint matter more than the paver itself. We use a well-compacted granular base, firm kerbs at the edges and a format that grips the bedding. Steps or landings may be better than one long steep run.
Do you provide the drawings for the community meeting?
We provide a quote, measurements and photos. If the meeting or the town hall needs a technical project, an architect or engineer must prepare it; we are the contractor who carries it out.
Is a permit needed for paving in Benalmádena?
The procedure for outdoor paving in Benalmádena has to be checked in the current municipal ordinance at the town hall. Many minor private jobs in Andalusia go through a responsible declaration, while anything on the public pavement needs separate authorisation.
How do you keep residents informed during the work?
We agree one contact person, usually the administrator or president, and send them photos and short updates. Notices for the lift or entrance can be prepared in Spanish and English so every resident knows which areas are closed.
Can we reuse the existing pavers?
If the blocks are intact and still available to match, they can sometimes be lifted, cleaned and relaid on a new base. Broken, worn or discontinued pavers are better replaced, and we tell you which way makes sense after seeing them.
Where can I see what affects the price?
Our sister site precioadoquinado.eu explains the cost factors: area, access, existing surface, lifting and waste, falls, kerbs and material. It also has a calculator for a first estimate before the site visit.
