Is a small area worth paving properly?
Yes, because a small surface fails for the same reasons as a large one. A front patio of a few square metres outside a townhouse in Pueblo López, or the side passage of a semi-detached house in Los Pacos, will still crack or dip if the base under it is thin or the edges are free to move.
The photo above shows a typical small job: on one side of the strip the old concrete slabs are still in place, on the other the ground has been dug out and a new base prepared. What you see at the end is only the top layer; what lasts is what goes under it, as our guide to layers and base explains step by step.
How do we organise work on a tight plot?
The direct answer: with smaller loads, a planned spot for waste and as little time with the street blocked as possible. If your house has no space for pallets or a skip, we bring materials in stages and remove rubble as we go.
- Agree where a delivery vehicle can stop briefly without blocking traffic or a neighbour's garage.
- Use compact machinery that fits through a standard gate or a passage beside the house.
- Keep the work area enclosed so pedestrians, children or pets cannot walk onto fresh bedding.
- Take away lifted slabs and soil regularly instead of leaving a pile on the pavement.
If a skip or container must stand on the public road, the town hall usually requires authorisation for it, and we check this for each job.
Which of our services fit Fuengirola homes?
Most enquiries here are replacements: lifting old paving and laying new when tiles have cracked or the concrete has broken up. For a new drive or entrance, concrete block paving in a slim, modern format is a frequent choice, and clay pavers suit older houses where a warmer colour fits better. Where a small front garden has to double as parking, ask about grass grids.
If your community or neighbours share the passage, check first who owns it. Shared areas in a community of owners need the agreement of the owners' meeting, which our permits and rules guide covers briefly.
Colour is worth a thought on a small plot. A single mid-tone across a patio makes it look larger and hides dust, while a contrasting border along the façade or gate frames the space. We can lay out a few sample pavers on site so you see them in your own light before ordering.
What else can be done in Fuengirola?
The same contractor runs all six sites in this network from Marbella. A sunken section only needs sunken paver repair in Fuengirola; a garage access or a parking bay is covered by driveways in Fuengirola; a roof terrace or pool deck by terraces and pools in Fuengirola; and a faded but sound surface by surface renovation in Fuengirola. Frequently asked questions
Do you take on small paving jobs in Fuengirola?
Yes. Front patios, side passages and short entrances are common requests. The price per square metre of a small area can be higher than for a large one, because setting up, deliveries and waste removal are spread over fewer metres.
Which areas of Fuengirola do you cover?
The whole municipality, including Los Boliches, Torreblanca, Carvajal, Los Pacos, Pueblo López and El Higuerón. Send us the street and a picture of the access so we can plan deliveries.
There is no room for a skip at my house. Can you still do it?
Usually, yes. We remove rubble in smaller loads as the job progresses, or use bags that can be collected. Where a container on the street is unavoidable, municipal authorisation for it is checked beforehand.
Can you pave the passage beside my house up to the wall?
Yes, but the surface must fall away from the wall so water does not collect against it. We set the gradient towards a drain or the garden and leave a clean edge where the paving meets the façade.
My front patio tiles have cracked. Should I tile again or use pavers?
Tiles bonded to a thin screed crack when the base moves. Pavers on a compacted base with flexible joints cope better with small movements and can be lifted and relaid if a pipe beneath ever needs repairing.
Which pavers suit a townhouse entrance?
For foot traffic and the odd scooter, a thinner paver in concrete, clay or stone is enough. If a car will park there, choose a thicker block and a base designed for vehicles from the start.
How noisy is the work for neighbours?
Lifting old concrete and compacting the base are the noisy phases; laying pavers is quieter. We work within normal daytime hours and can warn neighbours in advance if you prefer.
Do I need a permit in Fuengirola for new paving?
Fuengirola's current ordinance decides whether a responsible declaration or licence is needed for your job, and the town hall can confirm it. Any work affecting the public pavement or a vehicle crossing needs specific municipal authorisation.
Can you raise the level of my patio to stop rainwater coming in?
Often, yes. We can rebuild the base at a new height and form falls away from the door. The limits are thresholds, door heights and neighbouring levels, which we measure on the visit.
Do you send photos if I am away during the work?
Yes. We send pictures at the main stages – after lifting, with the base ready and once the paving is finished – so you can follow the job from home or abroad.
