Looking for an English builder in Marbella for outdoor paving?
If what you need is a driveway, a path, a courtyard or the replacement of old outdoor paving, a specialist paving contractor is often a better fit than a general builder. Our base is in Marbella, at Avenida Antonio Belón, and outdoor surfaces are all we do: the base, the edges, the bedding and the pavers, plus new stamped concrete and asphalt.
We are honest about the limits. We do not build extensions, pools or walls, and we do not draw up architectural projects or apply for building licences on your behalf. When your plans include those, your architect or main builder leads, and we carry out the paving part to their drawings.
Which parts of Marbella do we cover?
The whole municipality, which includes many named areas. Among those in our location data:
- San Pedro de Alcántara, Guadalmina, Guadalmina Alta, Guadalmina Baja, Nueva Andalucía, Puerto Banús
- Nagüeles, Sierra Blanca, Milla de Oro, Altos Reales, Río Real, Los Altos de Marbella, Bahía de Marbella
- Los Monteros, Rícmar, Elviria, Las Chapas, Hacienda Las Chapas, Marbesa, Artola, Cabopino, El Rosario, Salto del Agua
In gated developments, tell us about access rules for contractors and delivery vehicles; some communities set working hours or require advance notice at the gate, and we follow them.
What does a typical Marbella paving job involve?
On a villa plot it is often a combination: a driveway that takes several cars, a turning area, paths through the garden and an entrance at the front door. If your current surface is original paving that has moved or broken, replacing old paving starts with lifting it and rebuilding the base beneath.
For new work, owners often choose between natural stone setts and slabs for a classic Andalusian look and large-format concrete block paving for a modern one. Laying pattern changes the feel as much as the material; our guide to laying patterns shows herringbone, stretcher bond and multi-format layouts and where each works best.
Drainage deserves a word of its own on larger plots. A wide paved area collects a lot of rainwater in a short time, and if your drive slopes towards the garage or the house, a channel drain across it is often part of the job. We set the falls first, show you on site where the water will go, and only then start laying the pavers.
How do the paperwork and the quote work?
Outdoor paving procedure in Marbella is set by the current municipal ordinance, worth checking before work starts, and a community of owners must approve work on shared areas under Ley 49/1960. Our permits and rules guide explains the framework.
Our quotes list each stage separately so you can compare them with other offers. For an idea of the numbers involved, our price site has a paving cost calculator. Frequently asked questions
Are you an English-speaking builder in Marbella?
We are an English-speaking paving contractor based in Marbella. We handle outdoor paving – driveways, paths, patios and their bases – rather than general building, and we can talk through the whole job, quote and updates in English.
Can you work alongside my architect or main contractor?
Yes. We often take the paving package within a larger renovation. We follow the levels, drainage points and materials set by the designer, and coordinate dates with the other trades so the paving goes down after heavy work is finished.
Do you work in Nueva Andalucía and San Pedro de Alcántara?
Yes, both, and every other area of Marbella, including Guadalmina, Puerto Banús, Sierra Blanca, Elviria, Las Chapas and Cabopino. Send your address with photos so we can plan access and parking for deliveries.
My urbanisation has strict rules for contractors. Is that a problem?
No. Send us the rules or put us in touch with the administrator or security office. We register vehicles in advance where required and keep to the permitted working hours.
Which paving suits a large villa driveway?
A paver rated for vehicles on a well-compacted base, with firm kerbs along the edges. Natural stone gives a traditional look, large concrete formats a contemporary one. Turning areas need particular attention, as twisting tyres stress the joints.
Do you apply for the building permit?
We do not prepare projects or licence applications. For minor works the owner usually files the responsible declaration with the town hall; where a technical project is needed, an architect or engineer prepares it. Marbella's exact procedure for your job is set in its ordinance and is worth checking at the town hall.
Can I follow the work from abroad?
Yes. We send photos at each stage and answer questions by WhatsApp or email in English. Many decisions, such as colour or pattern, can be agreed with sample photos before we start.
Can you lay stone around my existing garden and irrigation?
Yes, with care. Mark or tell us where irrigation lines and lighting cables run. We protect or reroute them with your gardener or electrician, and leave sleeves under the paving where future cables or pipes will cross.
What should I compare between paving quotes?
Compare what each one includes: depth and type of base, edge restraint, bedding, paver thickness, jointing, falls and waste removal. A cheaper quote that skips the base or kerbs usually costs more later.
Can you repair sunken pavers instead of repaving everything?
If the problem is a few dips, yes. Our sister site for sunken paver repair handles lifting the affected area, correcting the base and relaying the same blocks, which keeps the rest of the driveway untouched.
